Call Me

Henry is from a 4 generational French Quarter family but was raised in the ‘Ninth Ward’ not far from the legendary Fats Domino. Having had music lessons in New Orleans during his teens he eventually wandered into to the French Quarter piano store named ‘Cunningham and Kinkaid’.

Henry started his piano tuning apprenticeship with long-time New Orleans piano tuner/pianist Bob Discon and also worked under piano tuner/clarinetist Frank Stone. Frank was a pioneer of ‘Free Jazz’. Henry learned the traditional method of piano tuning by ear from these New Orleans masters. Currently, Henry has incorporated his highly trained ear and the latest in the digital tools of today and offers what he calls a ‘hybrid’ piano tuning, using both ear and the digital aid.

Henry’s piano tuning business grew in New Orleans, Metairie, Slidell, Mandeville and Covington and he developed a clientele that consisted of many homes, churches, and schools. His clientele soon included many music venues and performing artists. These included Preservation Hall, The Ritz Carlton, Jean Lafitte Blacksmith Bar, Buffa’s Bar and Grill, Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, Louis Armstrong Fest, The Riverboat Natchez, The American Queen Steamboat Company, Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz and Dinner Club and the Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Henry has also tuned for many international artists such as Paul Simon, the Eagles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, and many more! Henry has also tuned for the TV series ‘NCIS New Orleans’, the HBO series ‘Treme’, and all the pianos in the movie ‘Greenbook’.

Henry will be more than glad to tune the piano at your home, church, school, or music venue piano. Give him a call!
